Two New Categories Added to the 2014 Event!
This year we are including a brand new Parent/Youth division for the 2014 event!
Parent/Youth teams will race to as many check-points as they can. There are NO MANDATORIES and NO TIME BONUSES. To keep things simple, winners will be those who hit the most check-points in the shortest amount of time. Don't forget to take those digital pictures as proof of reaching the check-points!
We are very excited to announce that we have added an Equine Team entry for the 2014 Sub-9 Death March! This is a huge move advocacy wise and we are excited to show clubs around the country how these two user groups can work AND PLAY together on the same trail system at the same time! As we move forward with bringing new trails to Yellowwood State Forest and the potential to connect these trails with those in Brown County State Park it is beyond important for the horse groups to be on board with the mountain bikers.
The equine teams will NOT be racing. This is a "fun-ride" for them. They do not have any mandatory check-points, but will still ride to as many as stops as possible and will still take a photo in front of the cemetery sign. They are warned ahead of time that this is cycling even that typically draws approximately 400+ cyclists and they should not even consider the event if their horse is not OK with bikes. Equine teams are encouraged to come out and camp side-by-side with us for the weekend and to be a part of the fun!
This is a great case study and we are setting an example for other clubs around the country. Please show your support for this ground-breaking event!
